I really enjoyed creating a sister website, creating the puzzles based on two of my paintings to start with. One of my painting Angel Heart. The other painting from my Manhattan by Moonlight series - Tug Boat on East River. So many details to set up, I was so excited, and then I finally got around to crunching the numbers. And was shocked at how many I would have to sell just to pay the annual fee for the site. I never studied business so did not plan as I should have.
Now, if my day job project I had expected to come thru this January had come thru as it has for the last 4 years I could have carried on for a few months to see if there was interest that would grow. But i just learned last week that project was outsourced. People I've worked with on my day job projects are helping me with referrals that may lead to work. But for now, though I don't mind taking some risks, I just can't justify bringing the puzzles out now. I'm so disappointed! And the puzzles and the coloring books that all took months to create, much longer than I thought, as most things do, took me away from editing my novel. I kept thinking I was close to launching the coloring books and then the puzzles too, so kept putting off the editing because I wanted a clear mind to do that. So now the novel is slated to be published not January 31, but June 21 for the Solstice. Well, tomorrow I will dive back into Frankenstein: Time Traveler, whose characters and story I had been missing, and maybe the puzzles will launch another day. I'm so sorry for all those who expressed interest. I certainly did learn some hard but good lessons. For now I'll make some pop corn and watch a movie. Good night... - Jacqueline
