When I learned from a stranger that my long lost father died seven years before, and I felt like my heart was being torn from my body as I sobbed, missing him and grieving that we hadn't had a chance to say goodbye - something happened. At first, puzzling, strange, then wonderful, and healing. I can't explain what happened, although I try to. It happened in the early 1990's, and since then I've only told family and close friends. Because when my brother passed away three years ago, only 30 days after being diagnosed with lung cancer. it almost killed me, but now two years later, his death has moved me to share the account of the experience I found to be both comforting and intriguing, that I hope may help and interest others as well.
