Otherwise frustrated because I worked for hours and thought I'd finally gotten a beautiful new home page and then saw it didn't convert to what I had created. Going to get some advice tomorrow. Posted this morning while nibbling on and finishing an entire bar of milk chocolate with almonds. A gift from a friend. Nothing like writing about mummies to make you think after all life is short so yes I will finish that delicious bar of chocolate! And that was after the Red Bull. Now to go to the day job.

When I was about 8 or 9 I read everything I could find about King Tutankhamun, pyramids, and mummies. And when my mom and dad and I went to the Museum of Natural History in Chicago I remember our exploring the Egyptian room. The Jewelry, tiny bottles, sculptures. And I did love the jewelry! But the mummies made the strongest impression. Later in NYC I went to the Tutankhamun show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and of course loved it. To me, mummies look mysterious and reflect our ageless belief in eternal life, in the afterlife, and in how love is everlasting.
Eventually, I believe my two main characters, painter Julie Norwood and Griffin Digger, Director of the Hall of Tribal People at the Museum of Natural History in NYC will have an adventure in Egypt. The sneak peek, a few pages from Book One - AWAKENING that I'm going to share here at the site prob in the tab Sneak Peek is going to be from when Julie, after painting some mummy paintings feels like she has to make a sculpture of one, and then she begins to see just as she knows that everything we do or make is a reflection of ourselves . . . these mummies made an appearance in FROM DARKNESS. They are an ongoing theme & I will make a selection from the book where they occur. Just not tonight. I've had a good day working on my next book.
