I used coloring pencils and those stubby little crayons are called craypas. You can get them on Amazon. They are like a crayola with some oil in them. Brilliant color and not expensive. You can mix them on the paper. That swirling effect I got on the heart was one color first. Then another color on top. Then take a cotton swap, remove the cotton and use the pointy end to strip away the top color revealing the color underneath! Fun! And you'll see, and I was concerned about that, but the pencils cover the grey in the picture. Because these are grey and white versions of my oil paintings of the heart only in one color and I worried that for a coloring book pencils wouldn't color over the tones of grey but they do! Yay! I also went over the border below just to see how that would look. And I like it. Like rays of light! Hope to get my coloring book out there soon! Happy coloring! So I'm working on getting mine created by August 2 or before! Transforming my Power of the Heart Paintings into shades of white and pale grey so they can be colored. I use pencils. After much deliberation I tried Prismacolor Premier and was happy and surprised at what can be done with them. Oil paint is my second language so I'm very new at this but want to color in one of the hearts for the cover of the Power of the Heart Coloring Book. I'm finding working on the hearts a nice way to start the day. :) Enjoy yours!
