I found the drawings I was thinking of and once I get all these poems formatted for the book I'll look to see where I will add them. Looking forward to working with the images. It will be fun! I was very active in the poetry scene in NYC in the first half of the 90's. At last they will see the light of day and night.

As I was correcting some of the scanning errors on the poems this morning before my day job. I'm getting up at 4:30 these days to work on the House of Forgetfulness. it occured to me that I have some drawings that might work in the book along with the poems. The only catch is I have to retrieve them from my storage closet where a box of portfolios and drawings are although buried under boxes of Christmas ornaments, summer clothes, hats, Easter basket, an extra comforter, office supplies, and don't know what else. And now that I have my trusty scanner I can easily scan the drawings into Photoshop to set up to insert in the book. I need to get into that closet anyway because I'd like to find the earliest typed copy of From Darkness because I'm hoping that box is where the first 8 pages I wrote with a quill pen are. And might be interesting to attach to my one vol edition for readers to see. Ok. I've scanned 48 poems.
The may not all make it into the book but then they may. Next step is cleaning up the scanned copies. As many of you may know, you can scan a perfectly typed doc but it comes out strangely. Printing C for an O for example. So will begin correcting tomorrow. Then to decide what order to put them in. I think the poems will tell me. Create the full cover, that is front and back and spine for the paperback. Send the text to Polgarus Studio who will format House of Forgetfulness for eBooks. And I'll upload to Create space to create the paperback. Two weeks or so to publication depending also on Polgarus' schedule. Fun and moving rereading the poems. Haven't read them since the mid-nineties. Tienke Klein a Nazi Concentration Camp Survivor's NDE Understated emotionally impressive NDE experiencer.
This will be my first collection of published poetry. Although I've published in several small press magazines. Just before the book launch I'll upload the video of the reading and interview I've mentioned before. I created the cover from a collage I made. Warning: The poems are edgy. Some transcendent. Coming soon as I scan, arrange, & proofread. FROM DARKNESS- THE ROSEWOOD BOX is available Now at Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. Excited me! See the links on side bar here . Cover Reveal of Original One Volume Previously Unpublished Edition - Pre-Order Now & Save!5/10/2016 FOR THOSE WHO HAVE READ THE 3 VOL EDITION THIS ONE VOLUME EDITION IS SIMILAR, BUT QUITE DIFFERENT. Because FROM DARKNESS - THE ROSEWOOD BOX is the Original One Volume Previously Unpublished and Unabridged Edition and so includes 5 additional chapters, a character from the original story, and another character who has her larger role reinstated, that have haunted me ever since I edited them out simply to make the book shorter, so I will finally have some peace and quiet and be able to get back to my next book in the FROM DARKNESS Series: FROM DARKNESS - TAROT-TAROT.
So for former readers the story as you read along will be somewhat familiar and then new! Again all those cuts were made to make the book shorter. Now you can read the book as I was inspired to write it sitting one night at my roll-top desk writing with a quill pen by candlelight because the story originally begins in 1816 in the Siberian Arctic during a blinding blizzard. FROM DARKNESS - THE ROSE WOOD BOX is a feisty more magical story as the story was meant to be. The story that came to me that night, took hold of me, and would not let go! So the only way I can move on to finish my next book is to publish this one as it came to me. And there you have it. The power of story. Story Rules. Because when when they come to us there's a reason. I hope you like it. |
