By 'accident' I found a fascinating site & talk by a Buddhist monk named Ashin Ottama. 2.5 hours flew by as he spoke of out of body experience, NDEs, Quantum Physics, & Buddhism! He's smart, funny, and very clear. Highly recommend if you've an interest in quantum reality and Buddhism or the ongoing exploration of reality and experience. Find him at:

I see that the article I found and posted just below explains the meaning of tunátya - that is, the first stage of manifesting, when we wish for, or hope for, and so are causing the unmanifest to manifest that which we wish for, launching the process of coming true. However, I want to add, because that article does not mention it, the state of tunatyava - meaning comes true being hoped for. I am quoting from Teachings From The American Earth - Indian Religion and Philosophy. Edited by Dennis Tedlock and Barbara Tedlock. This edition was published in 1975. I would imagine more recent editions would subtitle it Native American Religion and Philosophy. The Hopi’s universe has only two great temporal forms: the manifest and the manifesting (or not yet manifest). Manifest is everything which we perceive with the senses; it is objective and past. The manifesting is purely subjective and is a content of our heart. It is simultaneously present in the “Heart of Nature,” in the “powerful something” (a’ne himu) or Spirit of Breath (hi’wsn); it embraces everything of the future. The razor’s edge situation between the subjective and its having become objective is what we would call the present. But the Hopi circumscribe it by indicating either that the causation of something has stopped or by telling us that the end situation is beginning to manifest. The Hopi verb tunátya means “think,” “wish,” and “cause”; it is the word for what is subjective and not yet manifest. The past, on the contrary, is manifest and perceptible until, in its most remote forms, it re-disappears into the realm of the Origins, into the time and place of myths. There it becomes again “subjective” because it is only known to our consciousness after having come to visible forms in the world. It is as if from the original divine “Heart of Nature” a stream of events would flow out, becoming manifest and thus already past, while ever-new events still press forward from the realm of the subjective into actual manifestation. The remote past is, “subjective” because no longer perceptible. One is reminded there of the Aljira of the Australian aborigines, who know a mythical Dreamtime (Aljira) where the great mythical figures walked about and created the world and from which the souls of the children still come and to which the souls of the dying return. It is the sphere from which dreams come. This is just another instance of the relative timelessness of what some not call the collective unconscious. ~Marie-Louise Von Franz, “Psyche & Matter” Checking with my distributor it looks like the Pre-order will be sent to B&N Thursday or Friday of this coming week. And they should have it available online to Pre-Order copies "within a few days of shipment." Kobo may have it sooner. Apple takes two weeks to make available. As soon as I have definite dates I will let you know here! Stay tuned!
It was a few years ago during a very cold winter. The hats I had did not feel warm enough. I thought I would like a fur hat. But did not have the money for one. Not even one sold on the street. The next day I went out, a block from my apartment, I saw a black fur hat on the sidewalk. I looked in all directions to see if any one was scanning the ground looking for something lost. I saw no one. It occurred to me that if I didn't pick it up someone would and they might not be the original owner. So I picked it up and took it with me. It was black fur all around, the crown crocheted with wool yarn. So not quite as warm as it could have been if the crown had been made of suede. When attempting to manifest, be lighthearted about it but do be somewhat precise if you know what you need or would like. Even with the crocheted crown I have been kept warm for several years. Of course, I said, thank you, as I picked it up. Gratitude is always important.
I've learned it will be a couple of days until it is available on iBooks, B&N, and Kobo. I'll post here soon as I find out.
And the links if that's possible. Since it's the first in my FROM DARKNESS Series I'm offering it at $.99 for Pre-Orders. To encourage new readers and to make it super easy for those who bought the 1st edition. No new cover yet. Very grateful to my readers. You rock! Readers & Writers are a Team! I will see if I can keep both 1st and 2nd editions of the paperback and electronic version available. But that won't be up to me. We'll see.
Good News! I want you all to know that The New Edition of my novel FROM DARKNESS - Book One - will soon be available for PRE-ORDER at iBooks, B& N & Kobo! Or should be up any minute! This New Edition is an Revised, Restored, and Enhanced Edition! For those who Preorder now before the Publication date 1.3.2016, the Electronic version for now is $.99 to encourage new readers and reward those who preorder. After publication pricing will go up.
This one volume edition includes a preface for my readers to explain why the new edition. I had previously published it as a trilogy because in paperback I thought it would be easier for readers to carry around. But never forgot the chapters I had cut to please those who were demanding the book be shorter for production reasons. In fact those chapters and characters haunted me. Somewhat the same reasons why Stephen King published new editions of The Stand and his Gunslinger series. That he did that gave me the courage to do the same. All to be explained in my preface. This 2nd Edition is the first in the From Darkness Series although a Stand Alone - that is, in publishing speak, a complete story on its own. In this new edition, five of the originally inspired chapters that readers have not read, except for my original beta readers who loved it as it was, are now restored. Two of the original characters have been asked back and have graciously returned. And the twisted back story of twisted Ed is now included! All restored. I am doing a final read thru and edit now but the Revised, Restored, and Enhanced Edition will be approximately 180,000 words that Stephan King once described as" a goodish length for a book." Somewhere between 700-800 pages. I hope to have an awesome new cover for the series. Cover reveal to come so stay tuned. Epic Paranormal Fantasy. Supernatural Romantic Suspense. Coming your way. Until January 3 I'll leave the 1st edition up and available. An NDE from her dentist's chair. Succinct, very clear, & touching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x53guiS7oe8 |
