I heard this story from the mother who I knew well. And it was corroborated by her son.
The son was out late. After midnight back when kids from that neighborhood didn't do that. The mother was more than worried. More like extremely distressed. Being a religious woman she prayed for her son and like any other worried mom waited up for him to return. Getting sleepy, as the hour grew later, she was afraid she'd fall asleep if she waited on the living room couch. So she stretched out on the floor, holding an image of the Sacred Heart to her heart, praying over and over for his safe return. She eventually fell asleep but woke suddently when she heard a loud odd noise. She described it to me as metal scraping agains metal. Repeatedly. Which made no sense. She got up and looked out on the street and saw nothing that would have caused it. Evenutally, maybe after 3, her son returned home. She heard him come in and he held up his hand and said, "Not now, I'll tell you in the morning." So relieved that he was fine, she waited until then. This is what he told her: He had been out drinking, and had far more than he should have, when he was driving home and fell asleep at the wheel. He woke when he heard his car scraping against the parked cars, one right after another, on the block he was driving on when he woke. Metal scraping against metal. Who knows what might have happened when he came to an intersection and was still asleep at the wheel? Saved by a mother's prayer? Or coincidence? But the mother hearing the scrape of metal on metal a clear example of clairvoyance/telepathy/ESP - the ability to perceive things that are not present to the senses). In her case, she heard at a far distance. Did I mention he was miles away from home when this occured? What do you think?

Awesome. I truly believe parents, especially, can have that sixth sense.
