For many years I didn't know the name of this piece although I knew it had been composed by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Someone had given me a recording of it on tape and I loved it. Although eventually wore out the tape! There are many different organists' versions. One that I found that comes - close - to the one I love is one I found on YouTube uploaded by MovieMongerHZ. Many Thanks! The title is Toccata and Fugue in D Minor . However, the version I loved was played slower and I would say with more feeling. And although I love the sound of the alto sax, the bass, the cello, the viola, the violin, the piano, and the only instrument I was ever good at - the triangle in Kindergarten - I agree with the following: "The organ is without equal the most magnificent of all instruments, at least in my opinion." Marc Kelly from YouTube I don't believe the following is complete but to give you an idea if you like about the music that permeates the soul of FROM DARKNESS do listen to this brief portion! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho9rZjlsyYY&feature=related I've also got to find some jazz that Julie listens to in her loft as she paints! - Jacqueline
